Dr. Art Pimentel has over 20 years of leadership experience in higher education, with expertise spanning student services, public policy, enrollment management, and strategic planning. He is committed to expanding equitable access to education and fostering systems centered on equity, anti-racism, and student success. He earned all three of his degrees from California public institutions: a B.A. in Social Sciences (2002) and an M.A. in Educational Leadership (2010) from California State University, Sacramento, and an Ed.D. from the University of California, Davis (2018). He began his career in public service before joining Woodland Community College, where he held several leadership roles, including Executive Dean. He later served in key positions within the Los Rios Community College District and was appointed President of Woodland Community College in 2019, followed by President of Folsom Lake College in 2023. In addition to his academic leadership, he has an extensive record of public service, including serving as Mayor of Woodland and on multiple regional boards and commissions.
