As the second year of a global pandemic approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on our continuing evolution. The pandemic has had many effects on the credit union industry; cash use declined, and savings growth continued at unprecedented levels. Digital banking accelerated, and remote services have become not just accepted but expected. Providing the best service in the county has always been our goal, and now, providing that high-quality service through the convenience of digital channels has become top of mind.

Like so many other businesses, we have been impacted by staffing shortages and COVID-related absences. Our Teller Express Lane is a new solution we’re testing out at our Main Branch to address the extended wait times we’ve sometimes experienced as a result.

We have expanded the availability of video appointments, allowing more members to meet with a member representative from the comfort of their homes. We’re excited to announce that the Sycamore Pointe will serve as the springboard for bringing our Branch of the Future to life by leveraging enhanced virtual options, in addition to upgrading our ATMs with robust features.

We are committed to the financial well-being of our members. Achieve, our online financial success program provides valuable tools and resources to help you make educated financial decisions for your family. Additionally, our multiple campaigns this past year helped save our community nearly half a million† in interest by refinancing their higher-rate loans with us. Shop around, and you’ll discover that we have some of the best deals available to help our members save. Whether you make energy-efficient upgrades with our Energy Saver Loan or upgrade your ride with a low-rate Auto Loan, you can be sure you’ll find a good deal with awesome service at Yolo County’s Best Credit Union.

It is important to support local, and we purposefully direct our volunteer hours and financial donations to organizations that are in and provide services to Yolo County. We made a $20,000 donation to Cool Davis, a $30,000 donation to Suicide Prevention of Yolo County, and committed to a multi-year sponsorship of the FC Davis Soccer Team.

This extraordinary year has tested our agility and moved us to enhance technology, implement a future-focused strategy in the way we do business and reimagine the member service experience. Thank you for allowing us to be a trusted partner. Your feedback and the positive changes in our operations have strengthened us as we continue our unwavering service and support to our members and community through these unpredictable and challenging times.
