A Better Online Banking Experience

We believe providing tools and resources to help our members achieve financial success is essential. Our Online and Mobile Banking platforms offer a host of great features to help you spend, send, and track your money whenever it’s convenient for you.

This blog will cover a few of our newer features, including Bill Pay with eBill, External Transfers, and Pay a Person.

Bill Pay with eBill

The Bill Pay platform includes eBill, a feature that allows you to view copies of bills, quickly add new payees, and easily make real-time payments to select billers. Setting up eBill is easy–simply log in using your credentials for that biller’s online account. For detailed information on how to add eBills to existing or new billers and to learn how to identify billers that offer real-time payments, click here.

External Transfers

Securely connecting your external accounts to Yolo Federal’s Online Banking will be faster and easier with Plaid technology. Plaid simplifies the verification process by using the login credentials for your other financial institution’s Online Banking. This means same-day access to schedule transfers.

You will need to complete the authentication process each time a transfer is scheduled. You’ll have the option to receive the authentication code through email, text, or a phone call. For detailed information on adding external accounts using Plaid, click here.

You can still add accounts manually if your other Financial Institution hasn’t enabled Plaid technology. To manually add an account, you will need the financial institution’s routing number, account number, and account type (Checking or Savings). This process requires verification of micro-deposits in your external account, and setup could take more than a day.

Pay a Person

Easily and securely send money to friends and family with Pay a Person! To send funds, you will need to:

  1. Create a Secret Word and share it with your friend/family member.
  2. Complete the Authenticate User process to receive an authentication code (choose from email or phone call).
  3. Your friend/family member will need to input the Secret Word and their Debit Card information or their financial institution’s account and routing number to accept the funds.

Online and Mobile Banking Upgrade FAQs

  • What account types can I use with the updated platform?

    Bill Pay

Funds used to pay bills through Bill Pay will be deducted from a Checking Account. Savings Accounts (including Money Markets) are not eligible for Bill Pay.

    External Transfers

You can transfer funds to and from a Checking or Savings Account (excludes Money Markets).

    Pay a Person

You can use either a Checking or Savings Account (excludes Money Markets) when sending money via Pay a Person.

  • What is eBill?

eBill provides added convenience by allowing you to view copies of bills, quickly add new payees, and easily make real-time payments to select billers. Setting up eBill is easy—simply log in using your credentials from that biller’s online account through the Yolo FCU Bill Pay platform.

To access eBill, click on “Let’s get started!” when logging into Bill Pay. You are not required to sign up for eBill to use Bill Pay.

  • How can I tell if a Bill Pay will be a real-time payment or mailed payment?

Next to the biller information, you will see an icon indicating how the payment will be processed. The lightning bolt icon indicates a real-time payment, and the envelope icon indicates a mailed payment.

  • What information is needed to link an external account for External Transfers?

    Link Using Plaid

Plaid technology allows you to securely log into your other financial institution’s Online Banking (username and password) within your Yolo FCU online account. You will then complete an authentication process to set up recurring transfers and for all one-time transfers.

    Linking Manually

You can still add your external accounts manually with your financial institution’s routing number, account number, and account type (Checking or Savings). You will then go through the micro-deposit verification process, which could take several days to be completed.

  • What information is needed to send money using Pay a Person.

You will need to enter the recipient’s name and either their email or mobile phone number to send money using Pay a Person. Before you send the funds, you will need to complete the Authenticate User process (authorization code can be sent via email, text, or phone call) and create a secret word to be provided to the recipient.

Before receiving the funds, the recipient must enter the secret word and either their Debit Card number and expiration date or their financial institution’s routing and account number.

The recipient will have ten (10) calendar days to claim the funds, after which the funds will be credited back to your account automatically.
