At the end of March, we asked our members to share some of their favorite life hacks on how they’re saving time or spending time during this shelter in place order. The feedback we got was incredible! So, we decided to share some of the responses to help others find new and interesting ways to survive this quarantine.
One of the most popular responses we received was time spent cleaning and organizing. It seems that many of us have experienced the “spring cleaning” spark, and there is no better time to do it than when you’re stuck at home. Some people started small, such as reorganizing the “junk drawer” while others tackled bigger projects such as cleaning the entire house! No matter where you begin, you’re likely to feel very accomplished once you finish your project. The Container Store has a great blog with tips on how to begin your organizational cleaning. Check it out here.
Another common response was spending time cooking and baking with the family. Some of our social media fans even shared pictures of the delicious food they made – and it sure made us hungry for some! Getting families in the kitchen is a great way to teach children an essential life skill (they’re going to have to cook for themselves eventually), but it also allows you to bond with your family. If you’re looking for new recipes, Pinterest is a perfect place to start!
Lastly, we found that some of us are spending time with our family outdoors, either by going on a walk around the block, or just hanging out in the backyard and enjoying the sunshine. If you’re going a bit stir-crazy inside the walls of your home, try moving an inside activity outside to get some much-needed fresh air. Whether it’s playing a game, lounging in a chair to read a book, or just watching the dogs run in the yard, there are many things you can do from the comfort and safety of your own backyard.
Whatever you’re doing to survive this quarantine, we hope you’ll stay connected and share with us all of your life hack tips. Find us on social media (handle: @YoloFCU) and tag us in your posts/pictures on Facebook and Instagram. Because only with the help from each other, will we get through this quarantine.
