Aside from all the spooky Halloween fun, October is a very important month, especially for women’s health. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for good reason. Did you know that 1 out of 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime? Consider the number of women in your life. It is likely that someone you know has, will have, or is a survivor of breast cancer.

One of the best ways to help those with breast cancer is to support organizations that aid breast cancer patients and survivors. Thriving Pink, a local, non-profit in Davis is one of those organizations that support women fighting breast cancer through their three core programs: Granting Pink, Mentoring Pink, and the Pink Retreat.

  • Granting Pink is their financial assistance program. It provides financial aid to individuals for immediate and direct needs.
  • Mentoring Pink is their support network. Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients may experience many emotions that make it difficult to process how they feel. Mentoring Pink connects them to other breast cancer patients and survivors for the support and understanding that they’ll need in their journey.
  • Pink Retreat is a no-cost annual getaway for survivors to bond with other survivors/thrivers.

No matter what stage someone is at, Thriving Pink has the local support needed to help those fighting and surviving breast cancer.

Thriving Pink continues to make positive impacts in our community, and we are dedicated to helping them make the local difference.
